Electricity Regulations (Withdrawal of Deemed Approval – Serene S2069) Notice 2024
Pursuant to Regulation 86(4)(a) of the Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010 (“Regulations”), I, Mark Stephen Wogan, Manager, Energy Safety, acting under the delegated authority of the Chief Executive, WorkSafe New Zealand, give the following notice:
(a) This notice is the Electricity Regulations (Withdrawal of Deemed Approval – Serene S2069) Notice 2024.
(b) This notice takes effect on the seventh day after the date of notification in New Zealand Gazette.
(a) The deemed approval of the following model of electrical appliance under regulation 86(1) is hereby withdrawn pursuant to regulation 86(4)(a):
(a) The Serene S2069 appliance has been found to not be compliant with the relevant requirements of the applicable standard for electric heaters, being AS/NZS 60335.2.30: 2015 Household and similar electrical appliances – Safety – Part 2.30: Particular requirements for room heaters.
Informative note: The effect of this notice is to clarify that although the S2069 is not considered to be unsafe, it is not compliant with the relevant standard for New Zealand and should not have been supplied into New Zealand.
