Pursuant to Clause 4 of Schedule 2 to the Juries Act 1981, the Chief High Court Judge and Chief District Court Judge have issued a protocol setting out the requirements to apply in relation to all jury trials conducted in the High Court and District Court with effect from 21 August 2023.

The protocol was made on 17 August 2023.

The Ministry of Justice is the administering agency.

The protocol is published on the Courts of New Zealand website (www.courtsofnz.govt.nz).

The protocol is secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019.
