This notice is given under section 100S(1) of the Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 by the Commissioner of Crown Lands, appointed under section 24AA(1) of the Land Act 1948.

Notice

1. Title and Commencement

(1) The purpose of this notice is to notify the issuance of the Commissioner of Crown Land’s Standard on Easements, Transfers and Subleases affecting Crown pastoral land (“Standard”).

(2) The Standard comes into force on 1 September 2023.

(3) The Standard is secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019 and is issued under section 100S(1) of the Crown Pastoral Land Act 1998 by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

2. Description

The Standard prescribes the minimum requirements for:

1. Easements over or under Crown pastoral land under section 60 of the Land Act 1948; and
2. Consent to a transfer or sublease of Crown pastoral land under section 89 of the Land Act 1948.

3. Availability

(1) The Standard is available for inspection—

1. at the head office of Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand, Level 7, 155 The Terrace, Wellington; and
2. on Toitū Te Whenua Land Information New Zealand’s website at https://www.linz.govt.nz/resources/regulatory/commissioner-crown-lands-standard-easements-transfers-and-subleases-affecting-crown-pastoral-land.
