Pursuant to section 94D of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Rehette Stoltz, extend the local state of emergency declared at 10.00pm on 10 January 2023 over Tairawhiti Civil Defence Management Group owing to Ex-Tropical Cyclone Hale and Severe Weather Events.

The state of local emergency is extended for seven days. It will take effect immediately from the time of the initial declaration of the state of emergency (or the last extension) was to expire.
