Extension of State of National Emergency (Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Tairāwhiti and Hawke’s Bay Areas)
Pursuant to section 71 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Kieran Michael McAnulty, further extend, for seven days, the State of National Emergency over the Northland, Auckland, Waikato, Tairāwhiti and Hawke’s Bay Civil Defence Emergency Management Group areas, owing to the impacts of Cyclone Gabrielle.
This State of National Emergency was declared at 8.43am on Tuesday 14 February 2023, and was previously extended by me on Monday 20 February 2023 for seven days.
The extension comes into force at 8.43am on Tuesday 28 February 2023 and will expire at 8.43am on Tuesday 7 March 2023.
The State of National Emergency insofar as it relates to the Bay of Plenty Civil Defence Emergency Management group area will expire at 8.43am on Tuesday 28 February 2023.
