Pursuant to section 68 of the Education and Training Act 2020, and acting under the delegated authority of the Minister of Education, I hereby fix the following additional enrolment criteria for Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu.

This Notice comes into effect on 15 February 2023.

Introduction

This document sets out the updated definition for additional government-funded dual-tuition access at Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu in order to allow non-Tokelauan citizens enrolled in state schools in Tokelau to enrol at Te Kura through the Realm Country Schools gateway until Tokelau has been granted consent to assess the National Certificate of Educational Achievement by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority.

Definitions

These education type definitions apply to the Schedules:

Realm Country Schools

Realm country citizens who are enrolled in state schools in the Cook Islands, Niue and Tokelau, and non-Tokelauan citizens enrolled in state schools in Tokelau who meet the definition of domestic student in section 10 of the Education and Training Act.
