A compensation payment has been made to Gary Dudley Tuhi; Gary Duddly Tuhi in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“Act”).

The Act requires that after the Secretary of Justice makes certain deductions from the compensation payment, the surplus remaining goes into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account to enable victims of Gary Dudley Tuhi; Gary Duddly Tuhi to make claims against it.

Any money left after any victims’ claims have been paid will be paid to Gary Dudley Tuhi; Gary Duddly Tuhi.

On 1 August 2023, $12,381.25 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Gary Dudley Tuhi; Gary Duddly Tuhi.

The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for Gary Dudley Tuhi; Gary Duddly Tuhi until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Any person who has been a victim of Gary Dudley Tuhi; Gary Duddly Tuhi, in respect of an offence for which Gary Dudley Tuhi; Gary Duddly Tuhi was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Gary Dudley Tuhi; Gary Duddly Tuhi.

Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the Trust Account.
