Pursuant to section 160(3) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, I, Millicent Rose Goldwater, Senior Solicitor, acting on delegated authority from the Minister of Finance and the Secretary to the Treasury, hereby give notice that on 19 April 2023, the Honourable Grant Robertson, Minister of Finance, and the Honourable Nanaia Mahuta, Minister of Foreign Affairs, gave approvals:

1. under section 160(1)(b) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, in relation to section 164 of that Act, for Antarctica New Zealand to enter into derivative transactions with the Treasury to manage foreign exchange risk arising from the Scott Base Redevelopment Project; and
2. under section 160(1)(b) of the Crown Entities Act 2004, in relation to section 164 of that Act, to clarify that Antarctica New Zealand can enter into foreign exchange transactions when paying for goods and services supplied under resource sharing arrangements such as the joint logistics pool arrangement with the United States Antarctic Programme.
