Pursuant to Regulations 25 and 26 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Director-General of the Ministry for Primary Industries gives the following notice.

1. Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for the Horokaka Mātaitai Reserve) Notice 2023.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force on 10 May 2023.

3. Mātaitai Reserve

This notice applies to the Horokaka Mātaitai Reserve described in clause 4 of the Fisheries (Declaration and Notification of Horokaka Mātaitai Reserve and Appointment of Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki) Notice 2012 (No. MPI 14) that is located near Mahia.

4. New Appointment

(1) The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries has appointed Warren Hamlin as a tangata kaitiaki/tiaki for the mātaitai reserve.

(2) The appointment took effect on 5 March 2023.

5. Appointment Cancelled

(1) The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries has cancelled the appointment of Sonia Goodwin as a tangata kaitiaki/tiaki for the mātaitai reserve.

(2) The cancellation took effect at the end of 5 March 2023.

6. Appointment

(1) The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries has appointed Grace Ormond as a replacement tangata kaitiaki/tiaki for the mātaitai reserve.

(2) The appointment took effect on 5 March 2023.
