Crown Minerals (Royalties for Minerals Other than Petroleum) Royalty Rate Notice 2023

This notice is issued pursuant to regulation 15 of the Crown Minerals (Royalties for Minerals Other than Petroleum) Regulations 2013 and states the royalty rates for minerals as calculated in accordance with regulation 15(1) of the Crown Minerals (Royalties for Minerals Other than Petroleum) Regulations 2013 for the reporting period 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023.

1. Title

This notice is the Crown Minerals (Royalties for Minerals Other than Petroleum) Royalty Rate Notice 2023.

2. Application and Commencement

This notice applies to a holder of a Tier 2 exploration or mining permit to which the Crown Minerals (Royalties for Minerals Other than Petroleum) Regulations 2013 apply, for minerals for the 2023 reporting period.

3. Interpretation

(1) In this notice, unless the context requires otherwise─

2023 reporting period means the period 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023.

Minerals means the minerals obtained under a Tier 2 exploration or mining permit for minerals that are listed in column 1 of the table in clause 5 of this notice.

(2) Words used but not defined in this notice have the same meaning as words defined in the Crown Minerals Act 1991.

4. Adjusted Royalty Rates

The adjusted royalty rates for the 2023 reporting period are the rates listed in column 3 of the table in clause 5 of this notice.

Explanatory Note

This note is for explanatory purposes only.

This notice sets the royalties payable by a holder of a Tier 2 exploration or mining permit for certain minerals for the period 1 January 2023 to 31 December 2023 (the 2023 reporting period). The royalties have been calculated and notified in accordance with regulation 15 of the Crown Minerals (Royalties for Minerals Other than Petroleum) Regulations 2013 (SR 2013/206).
