This document notifies you that:

  1. On 7 September 2023, an application was filed in the High Court at Wellington under Part III of the Charitable Trusts Act 1957 for approval of a scheme in respect of the New Zealand Police Dog Charitable Trust. Its reference number is CIV-2023-485-553.
  2. The application is to be heard by the High Court at Wellington on 6 November 2023 at 10.00am.
  3. If approved, the scheme will vary the trust deed to facilitate the administration of the trust. The variations relate to the process for appointment and removal of trustees, the number and identity of trustees, the power of investment, the power of variation, and the trustees’ indemnity clause.
  4. The application, supporting affidavit, Memorandum of Counsel, and the Attorney-General’s report may be inspected at the Registry of the High Court at Wellington or at the applicant’s address for service.

  6. Any person desiring to oppose the scheme must give written notice of their intention to do so to the Registrar of the High Court at Wellington, to Crown Law on behalf of the Attorney-General, and to the applicant’s solicitor not less than 7 days before the hearing date.
