Notification of Commerce Commission’s Amendment to Determination of Default Price-Quality Regulation Applicable to Electricity Distribution Businesses
The Commerce Commission (“Commission”) gives notice that it has amended, under Part 4 of the Commerce Act 1986 (“Act”) the default price-quality path (“DPP”) applicable to regulated electricity distribution businesses (“EDBs”) for the regulatory period 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2025.
The amended DPP is Electricity Distribution Services Default Price-Quality Path Determination 2020 [2019] NZCC 21.
The amendment is set out in Electricity Distribution Services Default Price-Quality Path (Innovation Project Allowance Approval Criteria) Amendment Determination 2023 [2023] NZCC 29.
The amendment determination amends the criteria for the Commission to approve a draw down of an innovation project allowance by removing the requirement that an engineer/specialist report be received prior to commencing an innovation project
The determination is to come into force on 15 November 2023.
A copy of the DPP amendment determination is available on the Commission’s website and is available for inspection free of charge at the Commission (during ordinary office hours), or for purchase at a reasonable price at the Commission, 44 The Terrace, Wellington.
