Pursuant to sections 11(4) and 90(5) of the Electricity Industry Act 2010 (“Act”), the Electricity Authority gives the following notice.

1. Title and Commencement

(1) This notice is the Electricity Industry (Revocation of Exemption for Patrick Clifford Strange) Revocation Notice 2023.

(2) This notice comes into force on the day after the date it is notified in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Revocation of Exemption

(1) The Electricity Industry exemption published in the New Zealand Gazette, 22 October 2015, Issue No.115, Notice No. 2015-au6225 (Dr Strange’s exemption) is revoked.

3. Reasons for Revoking the Exemption

The reasons for revoking Dr Strange’s exemption are:

1. Dr Patrick Clifford Strange is no longer a director of Mercury NZ Limited (formerly Mighty River Power Limited).
2. revoking Dr Strange’s exemption meets the requirements in section 11 and section 90 of the Act.
