Pursuant to Part 3 of the Legislation Act 2019, notice is given of the making by the Director of Maritime New Zealand of the following marine protection transport instrument:

Marine Protection Transport Instrument MPTI-199-1: Alternative NO_x control measure – non-propulsion or spark-ignition marine diesel engines under Marine Protection Rules Part 199 subsection C3A

This transport instrument will come into force on 1 January 2023.

The provisions under which this transport instrument was made are sections 452A and 452B of the Maritime Transport Act 1994 and Marine Protection Rule 199.22.

Maritime New Zealand is the administering agency responsible for the transport instrument.

This transport instrument is secondary legislation for the purpose of the Legislation Act 2019.

This transport instrument is available for inspection free of charge from Maritime New Zealand, Level 11, 1 Grey Street, Wellington, or on the Maritime New Zealand website at: Transport Instruments under Part 199 - Maritime NZ.
