The Commerce Commission (“Commission”) gives notice that it has amended, under Part 4 of the Commerce Act 1986 (“Act”), the Electricity Distribution Services Default Price-Quality Path Determination 2020 [2019] NZCC 21.

The amendment is set out in the Electricity Distribution Services Default Price-Quality Path (Powerco transition) Amendments Determination 2022 [2022] NZCC 25 (“DPP Amendment Determination”).

The DPP Amendment Determination comes into force on 1 April 2023.

The DPP Amendment Determination makes Powerco Limited (“Powerco Limited”) subject (from 1 April 2023) to the default price-quality path that generally applies to regulated electricity distribution businesses. Powerco Limited is subject to a customised price-quality path until 31 March 2023.
