Under section 192A(2) of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Director-General, after complying with that section, gives the following notice.

1. Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Exemption from Compliance with the Fisheries Act 1996) Notice 2022.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force on 2 December 2022.

3. Exemption to Section 192A(1) of the Fisheries Act 1996

From the date that this notice comes into effect, the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research Limited land-based fish farm (FW139) is exempt from compliance with section 192A(1) of the Fisheries Act 1996 in respect of Asparagopsis armata which was collected under a special permit.
