Under section 192A(2) of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Director-General, after complying with that section, gives the following notice.

1. Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Exemption from Compliance with the Fisheries Act 1996) Notice 2022.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force on 18 November 2022.

3. Application

This notice applies in respect of GreenWave NZ Limited, (company number: 9429049932683) (“GreenWave NZ”) and WaikatoLink Limited, (company number: 9429038786242) (“WaikatoLink”).

4. Exemption to Section 192A(1) of the Fisheries Act 1996

From the date that this notice comes into effect, GreenWave NZ and WaikatoLink are exempt from compliance with section 192A(1) of the Fisheries Act 1996 in respect of brown kelp (Ecklonia radiata) which was collected under a special permit.
