This notice issued pursuant to section 50 of the Water Services Act 2021 (“Act”) by the Chief Executive of Taumata Arowai–the Water Services Regulator (“Taumata Arowai”), acting under delegated authority, gives notice that the acceptable solutions listed below have been issued.

1. Title

This notice is the Acceptable Solutions Notice 2022.

2. Purpose

The purpose of this notice is to notify the issue of drinking water acceptable solutions for use in establishing compliance with legislative requirements under the Act.

3. Acceptable Solutions

The following acceptable solutions are issued under section 50 of the Act:

• Drinking Water Acceptable Solution for Roof Water Supplies.
• Drinking Water Acceptable Solution for Mixed-use Rural Water Supplies.
• Drinking Water Acceptable Solution for Spring and Bore Water Supplies.

4. Empowering Provision

Water Services Act 2021, section 50.

5. Date and Commencement

The acceptable solutions were made on 13 October 2022 and come into force on 14 November 2022. Minor amendments of an editorial nature were made to the acceptable solutions on 26 October 2022.

6. Administering Agency

The administering agency for this notice is Taumata Arowai.

7. Publication

The acceptable solutions are published on the Taumata Arowai website https://www.taumataarowai.govt.nz.

8. Secondary Legislation

The acceptable solutions are secondary legislation for the purpose of the Legislation Act 2019.
