Pursuant to Clause 4 of Schedule 2 to the Juries Act 1981 and section 24A of the Epidemic Preparedness Act 2006, the Chief High Court Judge and Chief District Court Judge have issued a protocol and have modified the Jury Rules 1990 in relation to all jury trials conducted in the High Court and District Court with effect from 26 April 2022.

The protocol and modifications were made on 21 April 2022.

The Ministry of Justice is the administering agency.

The protocol and modifications are published on the Courts of New Zealand website (www.courtsofnz.govt.nz).

The protocol and modifications are secondary legislation for the purposes of the Legislation Act 2019.
