Pharmacy Council (Previously Listed as Pharmacy Council of New Zealand) (Fees) Notice 2022

Pursuant to sections 130 to 133 of the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act 2003, the following notice is given.

This notice is effective from 21 February 2022 and revokes and replaces all previous Pharmacy Council fees notices.

Notice

1. Title and Commencement

This notice may be cited as the Pharmacy Council (Fees) Notice 2022 and shall come into force on 21 February 2022.

2. Fees and Levies

The Pharmacy Council sets the following fees and levies, payable to the Council, specified in the attached Schedule.

3. Tax

The listed fees and levies are inclusive of goods and services tax.

Competence Programme

The fees payable by a practitioner who is required to undertake a competence programme set or recognised by the Council under section 40 of the Act will be an amount that is sufficient to reimburse the Council for all costs and expenses actually and reasonably incurred by the Council in relation to the competence programme that applies to the practitioner. Such costs and expenses may include, without limitation:

  1. Fees for service providers engaged by the Council in relation to the competence programme.
  2. Travel, accommodation, and travel-related costs incurred in connection with site visits.
  3. Administration expenses for teleconference meetings, printing, postage, and communications.

Supervision

The fees payable by a practitioner who is the subject of a condition included in the practitioner’s scope of practice requiring the practitioner to practise subject to the supervision of one or more nominated health practitioners or health practitioners of a stated class will be an amount that is sufficient to reimburse the Council for all costs and expenses actually and reasonably incurred by the Council in relation to the supervision of the practitioner. Such costs and expenses may include, without limitation:

  1. Fees for service providers engaged by the Council in relation to the competence programme.
  2. Travel, accommodation, and travel-related costs incurred in connection with site visits.
  3. Administration expenses for teleconference meetings, printing, postage, and communications.

*TTMR = Trans-Tasman Mutual Recognition Act (1997) applicants from Australia.

* REQR = Recognised Equivalent Qualification Route applicants are overseas qualified pharmacists holding recognised qualifications and registration from countries recognised by the Australian Pharmacy Council. These are the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, and the United States of America.

* Non-REQR = Non- Recognised Equivalent Qualification Route. Applicants that are registered pharmacists overseas, but do not meet the eligibility criteria for REQR route.
