Pursuant to section 94B of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, Jamie William Cleine, give notice of a local transition period over the Buller District owing to the need to manage, coordinate and direct recovery activities:

1. In the Westport Ward, as a result of the individual and aggregated effects of severe weather events in July 2021 and February 2022; and
2. In other parts of the District, as a result of the severe weather event in February 2022.

This transition period—

1. comes into force at 2.45pm on Saturday 5 February 2022,

   which is time and date when the state of emergency declared at 2.35pm on Thursday 3 February 2022 for the Buller District is terminated:

2. is in force for 28 days:
3. ends at 2.45pm on Saturday 5 March 2022, unless terminated or further extended earlier.
