Extension of Reporting Timeframes for Persons in Charge of Animals under the National Animal Identification and Tracing Act 2012 in the West Coast Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Area
Pursuant to section 34(2)(a) of the National Animal Identification and Tracing (NAIT) Act 2012, I Stephen Stuart, acting under delegated authority as Chief Executive of National Animal Identification and Tracing Limited, which is the designated NAIT organisation, give notice of alternative time limits to those prescribed by Regulations made under the NAIT Act 2012 for the provision of information by any person in charge of animals (PICA).
The alternative time limits apply only to those PICAs with NAIT animals located within the West Coast Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Area that are subject to declarations of a local state of emergency due to heavy rain and flooding.
This notice is in effect from the date of its publication until 11 February 2022. Where a local state of emergency is declared in the West Coast Civil Defence Emergency Management Group Area within this period, this notice will automatically take effect in that area from that declaration.
