Declaration of State of Local Emergency

Pursuant to section 68 of the Civil Defence Emergency Management Act 2002, I, John Craig Leggett, declare that a state of local emergency exists in Marlborough owing to extended and cumulative rain events causing flooding, extensive damage to the state highway and local roading network, slips threatening dwellings, damaged power supplies and isolation of remote communities.

The state of local emergency comes into force immediately on the making of this declaration and expires seven days after the time and date on which it comes into force (unless extended or terminated at an earlier time).

Designation: Mayor of the district for which the state of local emergency is declared.
