Under section 206 of the Education and Training Act 2020, I hereby declare that Longford Intermediate (3979) will merge with Gore High School (396) on 1 January 2024.

Gore High School (396) will be the continuing school and during the interim period, which shall begin on the day after this notice is published in the New Zealand Gazette, the Board of Gore High School will be the Board of the continuing school with co-opted members to represent Longford Intermediate School.

The continuing school will be a composite school providing Year 7–13 education.
