Pursuant to section 113C of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs and Trade gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title

This notice is the Fisheries (High Seas Fishing Notifications—Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna) Notice 2022.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

3. Notification of Global, Regional, or Sub-Regional Fisheries Organisation or Arrangement

For the purposes of Part 6A of the Fisheries Act 1996 and the definition of global, regional, or sub-regional fisheries organisation or arrangement in section 113B of that Act, the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna is an agreement or arrangement within the meaning of that definition.

4. Notification of International Conservation and Management Measures

For the purposes of Part 6A of the Fisheries Act 1996 and the definition of international conservation and management measures in section 113B of that Act, the conservation and management measures adopted by the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna that are set out in the Schedule of this notice are measures within the meaning of that definition.

5. Where Copies Are Available

Copies of the Convention for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna establishing the Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna and the conservation and management measures referred to in clause 4 can be obtained from the Internet at www.ccsbt.org or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Wellington.

6. Revocation

The Fisheries (High Seas Fishing Notifications–Commission for the Conservation of Southern Bluefin Tuna) Notice 2021, as published in the New Zealand Gazette, 24 November 2021, Notice No. 2021-go4960 is revoked.
