Ministerial Exemptions Under the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009

In accordance with section 159(2)(b) of the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 (“Act”), the Associate Minister of Justice hereby gives notice that he has revoked the following exemption from the Act:

Ministerial Revocation of Exemption: Sharon Bennet trading as Retirement Unit Surrender Consultancy

1. I revoke:

  1. The Ministerial exemption made under the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009 for Sharon Pasinemi Bennett trading as Retirement Unit Surrender Consultancy (RUS Consultancy),
  2. With respect to its activity of assisting retirement village residents to terminate their rights to occupy a retirement unit in a retirement village.

2. RUS Consultancy is no longer active in relation to the activities for which it was granted the Ministerial exemption.

3. This Ministerial exemption was published in the New Zealand Gazette, 11 July 2022, Notice No. 2022-go2831.

4. This revocation notice takes effect on the day of publication.
