Pursuant to regulation 9 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries gives the following notice.

1. Title
This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tāngata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for Area/Rohe Moana of Ngāi Tumapuhiāarangi ki Okautete Marae) Notice 2022.
2. Commencement
This notice comes into force on 8 August 2022.
3. Customary food gathering area/rohe moana
This notice applies to a customary food gathering area/rohe moana in the New Zealand fisheries waters between the Whareama River and the Pahaoa River, on the Wairarapa Coast, described as being:
“all that area of water enclosed by a line commencing at the mean high-water springs at the mouth of the Whareama River (41°01.00'S 176°06.50'E); then proceeding due east to the 12 nautical mile limit to a point at latitude 41°01.00'S; then proceeding generally south-west along the 12 nautical mile limit to a point at latitude 41°23.10'S; then proceeding due west to a point north of the Pahaoa River mouth (41°23.10'S 175°45.20'E); then proceeding generally north-east along the mean high-water springs to the point of commencement. The geographical coordinates named are in terms of the WGS84 datum.”
4. Tangata whenua
The tangata whenua of the area/rohe moana in terms of these appointments is Ngāi Tumapuhiāarangi ki Okautete Marae.
5. Appointment
(1) The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries has appointed the following people as tāngata kaitiaki/tiaki for the area/rohe moana:

- Matthew Paku:
- Sam Te Rei Morris.
(2) The appointments took effect on 7 July 2022.
