A compensation payment has been made to Andrew Ronald MacMillan also known as Peter John Scott in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“Act”).

The Act requires that after the Secretary of Justice makes certain deductions from the compensation payment, the surplus remaining goes into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account to enable victims of Andrew Ronald MacMillan also known as Peter John Scott to make claims against it.

Any money left after any victims’ claims have been paid will be paid to Andrew Ronald MacMillan also known as Peter John Scott.

On 23 June 2022, $320.00 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Andrew Ronald MacMillan also known as Peter John Scott.

The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for Andrew Ronald MacMillan also known as Peter John Scott until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Any person who has been a victim of Andrew Ronald MacMillan also known as Peter John Scott, in respect of an offence for which Andrew Ronald MacMillan also known as Peter John Scott was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Andrew Ronald MacMillan also known as Peter John Scott.

Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the Trust Account.
