Pursuant to Regulation 24 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, the Minister for Oceans and Fisheries gives the following notice.

1. Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Notification of Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for the Horokaka Mātaitai Reserve) Notice 2022.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force on 26 April 2022.

3. Mātaitai Reserve

This notice applies to the Horokaka Mātaitai Reserve described in clause 4 of the Fisheries (Declaration and Notification of Horokaka Mātaitai Reserve and Appointment of Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki) Notice 2012 (No. MPI 14) published in the New Zealand Gazette, 16 August 2012, Issue No. 98, Notice No. 2012-go4930 that is located near Mahia.

4. Appointment

1. The Minister for Oceans and Fisheries has appointed David Waihaki as a tangata kaitiaki/tiaki for the mātaitai reserve.
2. The appointment took effect on 28 February 2022.
