A compensation payment has been made to Dean Terance Parker in respect of a specified claim under the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“Act”).

The Act requires that after the Secretary of Justice makes certain deductions from the compensation payment, the surplus remaining goes into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account to enable victims of Dean Terance Parker to make claims against it.

Any money left after any victims’ claims have been paid will be paid to Dean Terance Parker.

On 22 March 2022, $3,977.36 was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of Dean Terance Parker.

The money paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account is held in trust for Dean Terance Parker until it has been paid out in accordance with subpart 2 of Part 2 of the Act.

Any person who has been a victim of Dean Terance Parker, in respect of an offence for which Dean Terance Parker was convicted in a Court of New Zealand, is entitled to make a claim against the money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Dean Terance Parker.

Claims by victims are not limited to the amount available in the Trust Account.
