COVID-19 Public Health Response (Air Border) Order 2021 Exemption of Persons from Pre-Departure Testing Requirements Before Arriving in New Zealand by Air

Pursuant to clause 58 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Air Border) Order 2021 (“Order”), I, Dr Ashley Bloomfield, Director-General of Health, hereby declare that the classes of persons listed in this notice, arriving in New Zealand by air, are exempt from the requirements for pre-departure COVID-19 testing set out in clauses 14 and 15 in the Order.

  1. Persons whose journey by air begins or is taken to begin in the following countries or other places:
    • American Samoa
    • Cook Islands
    • Federated State of Micronesia
    • Fiji
    • Kiribati
    • Republic of the Marshall Islands
    • Samoa
    • Solomon Islands
    • Tonga
    • Vanuatu
  2. Persons who travel directly to New Zealand from a Group 1 country and have been in that Group 1 country for less than 14 days

This notice will come into force at 11.59pm on 8 April 2022.
