Pursuant to clause 58 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Air Border) Order 2021 (“Order”), I, Dr Ashley Bloomfield, Director-General of Health, hereby declare that the classes of persons listed in this notice, arriving in New Zealand by air, are exempt from the requirements for pre-departure COVID-19 testing set out in clauses 14 and 15 in the Order.
- Persons whose journey by air begins or is taken to begin in the following countries or other places:
- American Samoa
- Cook Islands
- Federated State of Micronesia
- Fiji
- Kiribati
- Republic of the Marshall Islands
- Samoa
- Solomon Islands
- Tonga
- Vanuatu
- Persons who travel directly to New Zealand from a Group 1 country and have been in that Group 1 country for less than 14 days
This notice will come into force at 11.59pm on 8 April 2022.
