Notice Relating to Initial Incorporation by Reference of Material in Maritime Rules
Pursuant to section 452 of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, Maritime New Zealand gives notice that the Maritime Rules (Parts 23 and 53) Amendment 2022, signed on 18 November 2022 and coming into effect on 22 December 2022, incorporates the following material by reference, in rule 23.9(7) footnote 7A and rule 23.21(7) footnote 13A, also coming into force on 22 December 2022:
IMO clarification titled “Clarification Of SOLAS Regulation III/19” in MSC.1/Circ.1326 as amended by MSC.1/Circ.1326/Corr.1
IMO guideline titled “Guidelines On Safety During Abandon Ship Drills Using Lifeboats” in MSC.1/Circ.1578
The material incorporated by reference described above is available for inspection free of charge by appointment at the Maritime New Zealand office, Level 11, 1 Grey Street, Wellington, during office hours.
