Fisheries (Location and Inspection of Registers) Notice 2021

Pursuant to section 98 of the Fisheries Act 1996, Commercial Fisheries Services Limited gives the following notice.

1 Title

This notice is the Fisheries (Location and Inspection of Registers) Notice 2021.

2 Commencement

This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

3 Meaning of Registers

In this notice, the Registers means the Fishing Vessel Register, the Permit Register, and the High Seas Permit Register.

4 Location of Registers

The Registers must be located at the registered office of Commercial Fisheries Services Limited (FishServe).

5 Hours of Inspection

The registers must be open for inspection by the public from 8.00am until 5.00pm on any day except—

  1. a Saturday, a Sunday, Waitangi Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, the Sovereign’s birthday, Matariki Day, and Labour Day; and
  2. if Waitangi Day or Anzac Day falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, the following Monday; and
  3. the day observed as anniversary day in Wellington; and
  4. a day in the period beginning on 25 December in a year and ending on 2 January in the following year; and
  5. if 1 January falls on a Friday, the following Monday; and
  6. if 1 January falls on a Saturday or a Sunday, the following Monday and Tuesday.

6 Revocation

The Fisheries (Location and Inspection of Registers) Notice 2014 (SR 2014/315) (New Zealand Gazette, 25 September 2014, No. 114, page 3244) is revoked.

Explanatory Note

This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette. The notice states the place at which the Fishing Vessel Register, the Permit Register, and the High Seas Permit Register must be located, and the hours when they must be open for inspection by the public. In accordance with sections 296B and 296C of the Fisheries Act 1996 and the Fisheries(Transfer of Functions, Duties, and Powers to Commercial Fisheries Services Limited) Order 2013, this notice is made by Commercial Fisheries Services Limited.
