Amendment of the NAIT Animal Identification Devices Standard

Pursuant to section 14 of the National Animal Identification and Tracing Act 2012, I, Stephen Stuart, acting under delegated authority as Chief Executive of National Animal Identification and Tracing Limited, which is the designated NAIT organisation, give notice of amendment of the NAIT Animal Identification Devices Standard.

The amendments specified below are temporary. They take effect on the date of publication of this notice and expire 14 calendar days after that date.

The amendments are as follows:

Amend clause 6.9 (“The licensee must contact the PICA within 72 hours of being notified of a device retention issue and take all reasonable steps to resolve the issue”) to replace “72 hours” with “five business days”.

Amend Table 2 (“Timeframes for responding to data upload issues”) as follows:

  • In the third column “Target response time”, replace all instances of “<=48 hours” and “<=24 hours”& with “<= 5 business days”
  • In the fourth column “Target resolution time”, replace all instances of “<=120 hours” and “<=48 hours” with “<= 10 business days”.
