Notification of Access to Material Incorporated by Reference into the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002

Pursuant to section 52 of the Legislation Act 2012, the Manager Energy Markets Policy, Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment gives the following notice.

The Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Amendment Regulations 2020 were made on 14 December 2020 and will incorporate the standards set out in the table below into the Energy Efficiency (Energy Using Products) Regulations 2002 from 1 July 2021.

The following table sets out those standards, where they can be purchased and the reason for incorporation.

Refrigerated cabinets

EN 16825 Refrigerated storage cabinets and counters for professional use – Classification, requirements and test conditions

Extends the scope of minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) to include refrigerated storage cabinets and ice-cream cabinets.

Updates MEPS to align with European levels and the simultaneous revision of the Australian Determinations.

EN 16901 Ice cream freezers – Classification, requirements and test conditions

The standards are available for inspection, at no charge, between the hours of 9.00am and 5.00pm from Monday to Friday (excluding statutory holidays) at:

  • the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment office located at 25 The Terrace, Wellington 6011; or
  • the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority office at Level 8, 44 The Terrace, Wellington 6011.
