Pursuant to Regulation 10C of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Managed Isolation and Quarantine Charges) Regulations 2020, the Minister for COVID-19 Response gives the following notice after complying with those regulations.

1. Title

This notice is the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Managed Isolation and Quarantine Charges Waiver for Persons being Resettled from Afghanistan) Notice 2021.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force at 12.01am on 21 December 2021.

3. Interpretation

(1) In this notice, —

MIQ charges means charges payable under the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Managed Isolation and Quarantine Charges) Regulations 2020.

Regulations means the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Managed Isolation and Quarantine Charges) Regulations 2020.

4. Waiver of MIQ Charges for Specified Persons Under Regulation 10C

(1) MIQ charges that are payable by the class of persons set out in Regulation 10C of the Regulations are waived for persons who meet the following conditions:

1. The person was supported or enabled to depart Afghanistan by the New Zealand government as confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade; and
2. The person departed Afghanistan on or after 16 August 2021.
