Notification of Proposal to Amend the Energy Efficiency (Vehicle Fuel Economy Labelling) Regulations 2007 Notice 2021

Pursuant to section 36(2) of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Act 2000, the Minister of Energy and Resources gives the following notice.

The Minister of Energy and Resources proposes to include a vehicle’s CO2 emissions and associated fee or rebate information on existing vehicle fuel economy labels administered by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority.

If the proposal proceeds, it will result in amendments to the Energy Efficiency (Vehicle Fuel Economy Labelling) Regulations 2007.

The proposal is available for consideration in a document titled Options to provide Clean Vehicle information to consumers at www.mbie.govt.nz/have-your-say/ which was published on Thursday 25 November 2021. Public consultation will last for a period of 28 days and submissions are due by 5.00pm on Thursday 23 December 2021.

This notice is the Proposal to Amend the Energy Efficiency (Vehicle Fuel Economy Labelling) Regulations 2007.

2. Commencement

This notice comes into force on the date it is signed by the Minister of Energy and Resources.
