Under section 199(3) of the Education and Training Act 2020, I hereby declare that Hāwera Intermediate School (2170), and Hāwera High School (182) will close on 27 January 2023 and will cease to be established on that day.

New School Establishment

Under section 190 of the Education and Training Act 2020, I hereby establish a Year 7–15 co-educational composite school in Hāwera, to be known as Hāwera New Year 7–15 School.
