Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Tūtūtarakihi, Kaitaia, Establishment

Pursuant to sections 190, 204 and 205 of the Education and Training Act 2020, I hereby establish in the Kaitaia District a Years 1–8 co-educational state school called Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Tūtūtarakihi and designate the school as a Kura Kaupapa Māori under section 201 of the Act.

Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Tūtūtarakihi will operate in accordance with Te Aho Matua, as a level 1 immersion kura. It also operates with the following aims, purposes and objectives which will together constitute the special characteristics of the school:

Provide a Māori education through te reo Māori based on the Maramataka Māori and in accordance with Te Aho Matua, Tūterangiatohia Hapū, and the established localised curriculum model for the collective tribes of Te Hiku o Te Ika, Muriwhenua.

Constitution of the Board of Trustees

The constitution of the board will be standard as set out in section 119 of the Act.

This notice takes effect on the date of publication in the New Zealand Gazette.
