Notification of Levy Rates Under the Energy (Petrol, Engine Fuel, and Gas) Levy Regulations 2017 Notice 2021

This notice is issued pursuant to Regulations 7 and 11 of the Energy (Petrol, Engine Fuel, and Gas) Levy Regulations 2017, and sets the following levy rates that will apply from 1 July 2021 to 30 June 2022:

  • The petroleum or engine fuel monitoring (PEFM) levy is 0.59 cents per litre.
  • The gas safety, monitoring, and energy efficiency (GSMEE) levy is 3.7 cents per gigajoule.

Calculations for the 2021/22 PEFM and GSMEE levy rates are set out below:
