Notice of Start of Investigation into the Alleged Dumping of Certain Aluminium-zinc Coated Steel From Korea and Taiwan

In accordance with section 10B(2) of the Trade (Anti-dumping and Countervailing Duties) Act 1988 (“Act”), and acting under delegated authority from the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, I give notice that I have started investigation step 1 of the alleged dumping of the goods described in the Schedule of this notice (“subject goods”).

Investigation step 1 was started in accordance with section 10A(1) and 10B(1) of the Act following consideration of a properly documented application made by New Zealand Steel Limited, the New Zealand industry producing certain aluminium-zinc coated steel, which provided sufficient evidence justifying the need for an investigation.

Investigation step 1 started on 8 June 2021.

Description of Goods

Flat rolled iron and steel products (whether or not containing alloys), plated or coated with principally aluminium-zinc alloys (but the plating or coating may contain other alloys), not painted, and whether or not including resin coating or other surface treatment.

The subject goods are currently within the following classifications in the New Zealand Customs Tariff (“Ex” indicates partial coverage only):
