Notice of Intention to Remove the New Zealand Association of Credit Unions from the Credit Unions Register

I have received a request to remove the NEW ZEALAND ASSOCIATION OF CREDIT UNIONS (“Association”) from the Register under section 140(2)(b) of the Friendly Societies and Credit Unions Act 1982.

The request has been made on the ground provided for in section 140(3)(a) of the Friendly Societies and Credit Unions Act 1982 that the Association has ceased to operate, has discharged in full its liabilities to all its known creditors, and has distributed its remaining assets to those persons entitled to them or otherwise in accordance with its rules.

Unless under section 140B of the Friendly Societies and Credit Unions Act 1982, written objection to the removal of the Association from the Register is delivered to the Registrar by 1 July 2021, being not less than 20 working days from the date of this notice, the Registrar will remove the Association from the Register.
