Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices 2004—Tourist Arrow Road Marking

Pursuant to subclause 5.4(1A) of Land Transport Rule: Traffic Control Devices 2004 and a delegation from the Waka Kotahi, NZ Transport Agency, I, Kane Patena, Director of Land Transport, authorise the installation and maintenance of the road markings described in the Schedule 1, in accordance with the conditions set out in this notice:

Conditions

  1. The M7-1 straight ahead arrow may be marked on a road surface to remind drivers to driver on the left.
  2. The M7-1 straight ahead arrow when marked as a keep left tourist arrow on 80km/h roads and above may have the tapered edges of the arrowhead stepped in from the diagonal by a maximum of 30mm to enable the arrow to be applied to the road using a mobile marking operation which doesn’t require staff to be on the road.

M7-2 ‘Tourist Arrow’: Reminds tourists to drive on the left side of the road when driving in New Zealand.
