The Commerce Commission (“Commission”) gives notice that under Part 4 of the Commerce Act 1986 (“Act”), the Commission has determined and published the Electricity Distribution Information Disclosure (Aurora Energy Limited) Amendment Determination 2021  NZCC 12 (“Aurora ID Amendment Determination”).
Summary of the Aurora ID Amendment Determination
Under section 52Q of the Act, the Aurora ID Amendment Determination amends the Electricity Distribution Information Disclosure Determination 2012  NZCC 22 (“principal determination”) to introduce new information disclosure (ID) requirements applying only to Aurora Energy Limited (“Aurora”). The new requirements apply to Aurora in addition to the existing ID requirements under the principal determination.
The new requirements are intended to promote transparency regarding how Aurora spends money on improving the safety and reliability of its electricity lines network. They also require Aurora to explain what it is doing to improve its communication and engagement with its consumers and other stakeholders.
