Pursuant to section 338(5)(d) of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori freehold land described in the Schedule and comprised in the Māori Reservation known as Waipa-Ranui Block Māori Reservation, set apart by notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 31 January 1985, No. 18, page 402, is redefined in terms of the persons or class of persons for whose use or benefit the Reservation is made, from the “descendants of Rapata and Maketu” to “the descendants of Ngāti Tamainupo”.
