Take notice that, pursuant to subpart 2 of part 2 of the Prisoners’ and Victims’ Claims Act 2005 (“Act”), on 5 February 2020 compensation awarded to Falco Brouq Cellah Maaka (“offender”) was paid to the Secretary for Justice and, after certain deductions (if any), the surplus was paid into the Victims’ Claims Trust Account on behalf of the offender to enable any victims of the offender to make claims against it.

And that, on 22 February 2020 notice of the sum of money paid into the Trust Account and the entitlement of victims of the offender to claim against this money, was published in the daily newspapers in Auckland, Hamilton, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin and, on 21 February 2020, was published on the website of the Ministry of Justice.

The Secretary for Justice has now paid out all money held in the Trust Account on behalf of Falco Brouq Cellah Maaka in accordance with subpart 2 of part 2 of the Act.
