Notice is hereby given of the making of an order amending the New Zealand Tariff, pursuant to section 9 of the Tariff Act 1988, to implement the preferential tariff rates that will apply to imported goods under the Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic Relations Plus (PACER Plus).

1. Title of Order

This order is the Tariff (PACER Plus) Amendment Order 2020.

2. Commencement

The order will come into force on 13 December 2020.

3. Effect of Order

This order amends the Tariff by implementing the Preferential Tariff rates agreed to by the New Zealand Government in the PACER Plus, done at Nuku’alofa, Tonga, on 14 June 2017.

On 13 December 2020 traders from PACER Plus-specified parties that meet the rules of origin and other applicable requirements will have the Preferential Tariff rate of “Free”.

4. Availability
