Start of Investigation Step 1 of the Alleged Dumping of Frozen Potato Fries and Wedges From Belgium and the Netherlands

In accordance with section 10B(2) of the Trade (Anti-dumping and Countervailing Duties) Act 1988 (“Act”), and acting under delegated authority from the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment, I give notice that I have started investigation step 1 of the alleged dumping of the goods described in the Schedule of this notice (“subject goods”).

Investigation step 1 was started in accordance with section 10A(1) and 10B(1) of the Act following the acceptance of a properly documented application made by Potatoes New Zealand (representing New Zealand producers of potato products) which provided sufficient evidence justifying the need for an investigation.

Investigation step 1 started on 30 October 2020.

Frozen potato fries and wedges falling under tariff code 2004100000.

The goods are currently classified under the Tariff item and statistical key 2004.10.00 00J. This classification is provided for convenience and Customs’ purposes only, the written description being dispositive.
