Exemption of Persons from Requirements of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Alert Levels 3 and 2) Order 2020

1. On 18 August 2020, the Director-General of Health granted individual exemptions numbers [19], [23], [24], [35], [49], [76], [81], [708], [712], [715], [723], [727], [729], [733], [734], [736], [737], [738], [740], [741], [742], [748], [749], [751], [754], [755], [756], [757], [762], [763], [765], [775], [776], [778], [779], [959], [960], and [965] to individuals under clause 27 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Alert Levels 3 and 2) Order 2020 (“Order”).

  1. The terms of these exemptions are these individuals must travel for the purpose of caring for or supporting a vulnerable person in the applicable location.
  2. The exemptions were granted with the following conditions: the individuals must travel for the purpose identified, and the individuals must travel as directly as reasonably possible to care for and/or support the vulnerable persons.
  3. The exemptions commenced at 11.59pm on 18 August 2020 and ceases at expiry of the Order.

2. On 18 August 2020, the Director-General of Health granted individual exemptions numbers [703], [706], [710], [714], [719], [720], [735], [739], [743], [745], [774], [777], [780], and [935] to individuals under clause 27 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Alert Levels 3 and 2) Order 2020.

  1. The terms of these exemptions are these persons must travel from their home for the purpose of visiting their relative who is close to death.
  2. The exemptions were granted with the following condition: the individuals must travel for the purpose identified, and the individuals must travel as directly as reasonably possible.
  3. The exemptions commenced at 11.59pm 18 August 2020 and ceases at expiry of the Order.

3. On 18 August 2020, the Director-General of Health granted individual exemption numbers [12], [18], [25], [31], [37], [51], [77], [709], [711], [732], and [753] to individuals under clause 27 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Alert Levels 3 and 2) Order 2020.

  1. The terms of these exemptions are that the individuals must travel for the purpose of moving from their current place of residence to a new place of residence.
  2. The exemptions were granted with the following conditions: the individuals must travel for the purpose identified and the individual should travel as directly as reasonably possible to achieve that purpose. Individuals may not make return journeys without a further exemption.
  3. The exemption commenced at 11.59pm on 18 August 2020 and ceases at the expiry of the Order.

4. On 18 August 2020, the Director-General of Health granted individual exemption numbers [724], [728], [744], [750], [904], [917], [938], [939], [944], [945], [946], [949], [956], and [958] to individuals under clause 27 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Alert Levels 3 and 2) Order 2020.

  1. The terms of the exemptions is that the individuals must travel for the purpose of returning to their place of residence.
  2. The exemptions were granted with the following conditions: the individuals must travel for the purpose identified, and the individuals should travel as directly as reasonably possible.
  3. The exemption commenced at 11.59pm on 18 August 2020 and ceases at the expiry of the Order.

5. On 18 August 2020, the Director-General of Health granted individual exemption numbers [27], [28], [30], [33], and [702] to individuals under clause 27 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Alert Levels 3 and 2) Order 2020.

  1. The terms of these exemptions are that the individuals must travel for the purposes of accessing health services, returning home or to the residence of a support person after accessing health services, and/or supporting a person who is accessing health services.
  2. The exemptions were granted with the following conditions: the individual accessing health services must have an appointment, the individuals must travel for the purpose identified, and the individuals should travel as directly as reasonably possible.
  3. The exemption commenced at 11.59pm on 18 August 2020 and ceases at the expiry of the Order.

6. On 18 August 2020, the Director-General of Health granted individual exemption numbers [705], [707], [716], [717], [725], [726], [730], [747], [758], [761], and [764] to individuals under clause 27 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Alert Levels 3 and 2) Order 2020.

  1. The terms of these exemptions are that the individuals must transit through Auckland.
  2. The exemptions were granted with the following conditions: the individuals must not exit their vehicle or have in-person contact with any person while inside the Alert Level 3 area, and the individuals should travel as directly as reasonably possible.
  3. The exemption commenced at 11.59pm on 18 August 2020 and ceases at the expiry of the Order.

7. On 18 August 2020, the Director-General of Health granted individual exemption number [916] to an individual under clause 27 of the COVID-19 Public Health Response (Alert Levels 3 and 2) Order 2020.

  1. The terms of the exemption is that the individual must travel for the purpose of attending court.
  2. The exemptions were granted with the following conditions: the individual must travel for the purpose identified, and should travel as directly as reasonably possible.
  3. The exemption commenced at 11.59pm on 18 August 2020 and ceases at the expiry of the Order.
