Guidelines for Local Authority Representation Reviews

On 30 June 2020 the Local Government Commission (“Commission”) issued new Guidelines to Assist Local Authorities in Undertaking Representation Reviews.

The guidelines have been issued under section 19ZI of the Local Electoral Act 2001.

They identify factors and considerations for local authorities to take into account in making determinations under any of the provisions of sections 19H to 19JB and Schedule 1A of the Local Electoral Act 2001.

The guidelines are available, free of charge, from the Commission by request from the Local Government Commission, PO Box 5362, Wellington, 6145 or from info@lgc.govt.nz. They may also be downloaded from the Commission’s website, www.lgc.govt.nz, or may be inspected free of charge at the Commission’s offices at 45 Pipitea Street, Wellington.
